Chiou receives $1.7 million to support MacuClear
Regent Technology has awarded George C.Y. Chiou of the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine $1.7 million to support MacuClear, a company Chiou founded last year that conducts research into therapeutic drugs for age-related macular degeneration.

Researchers with the Texas Transportation Institute have determined that Texas teenagers taught to drive by their parents are nearly three times more likely to be involved in serious traffic crashes than are young drivers taught by commercial or public school driving instructors.
